Hamburger Mac N’ Cheese

Mac n’ cheese is a pretty great comfort food on its own but Hamburger Mac N’ Cheese takes it to a higher level.

Ingredients:

  • cooking oil

  • 1/4 LB of ground meat of your choice

  • 1 medium onion diced

  • 2 cloves of minced garlic

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms

  • 1 bell pepper diced

  • 2 medium stalks of celery diced

  • 1 cup of stewed tomatoes

  • 1 cup of cream

  • black pepper

  • salt

  • 2 servings of uncooked penne rigate

  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

 

Method:

  • Heat the oven to 400 °F.

  • Heat some oil in an oven safe pan and cook the onions, garlic and bay leaf for 5 minutes. Then add the mushrooms and ground meat and cook for 10 minutes until the meat has browned.

  • Then add the bell pepper, celery, stewed tomatoes,cream, black pepper and salt to taste.

  • Then add the uncooked pasta and put it in the oven for 50 minutes.

  • Take it out of the oven and sprinkle the cheese and mix it thoroughly and bake for another 15 minutes.
