Tangy Turnip Greens

Turnip greens belong to the cruciferous family. They are bitter but they can be delicious when they’re paired with the right ingredients.

Here’s the recipe for tangy turnip greens.




  • 1 large bunch of turnip greens washed and chopped

  • 4 cloves of garlic minced

  • juice of 1 lemon

  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar

  • 2 Thai chillies

  • water

  • salt


  • Pour the lemon juice over the chopped turnip greens and set it aside for at least 1 hour.

  • Heat some oil in a pan and brown the garlic.



  • Then add the greens, vinegar and chillies and cover them with water and put a tight fitting lid and cook for 50 minutes.When the greens are tender, salt them and serve.
