Cheesy Potato and Beef Skillet Dinner

I like Shepherd’s Pie so I made a similar dish with a few changes. I roughly mashed the potatoes and added some carrots for more texture. The tomatoes made a delicious sauce.

This is my recipe.





  • 500 grams of baby potatoes

  • 250 grams of ground beef

  • 1 cup of baby carrots diced

  • 1/ 2 cup of stewed tomatoes

  • 1 onion diced

  • 4 cloves of garlic minced

  • 1 cup of cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup of milk

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • salt



  • Heat some oil in a pan and add the garlic and once it has softened add the onions and caramelize them.



  • Puree the tomatoes and add them with the beef  and carrots into the pan.


  • In another pot, boil the potatoes until they just soften. Peel them and mash them while adding butter and milk.



  • Cover the beef with the mashed potatoes and top with cheese. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
