Nori Rice

I tried a seasoning mix of seaweed flakes and sesame seeds over rice and I liked the added crunch and the slight saltiness. I made a rice dish cooked with seaweed.

Here’s my recipe.



  • sesame oil

  • 1 sheet of Nori roasted over the stove element and crumbled into flakes

  • 1 medium onion diced

  • 2 cloves of garlic minced

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 cup of rice

  • 1 1/c cups of water

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds


  • Heat some sesame oil in a pan and add the onion and garlic and once fragrant add the Nori flakes.

  • Then add the rice ,water and soy sauce and cover with a tight fitting lid for about 20 minutes.

  • Garnish with sesame seeds.
