My Chicken Kaarage

I like fried chicken. I recently had the Japanese version of fried chicken–Chicken Karaage and it was really good. Apart from having a really nice crunch it had wonderful Japanese seasoning.  I looked at a few different recipes for Chicken Karaage.

Here’s my recipe.




  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 inch of ginger minced

  • 3 cloves of garlic minced

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons of Chinese cooking wine

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

  • corn oil




  • Prick the chicken with a fork and marinate it with the ginger, garlic, soy sauce and cooking wine for at least 1 hour.

  • Heat the cooking oil. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel and then dredge in the cornstarch and fry on both sides until golden.
